Patrick Michel, skipper of the Malisi charter yacht, has now reported the discovery to a US coast guard as the search for the four sailors continues.

The 40ft Cheeky Rafiki went missing on Friday morning as it made its way back from a regatta in Antigua.
Four crew members - Captain Andrew Bridge, 22, from Farnham, Surrey, James Male, 23, from Southampton, Steve Warren, 52, from Bridgwater, Somerset, and Paul Goslin, 56, from West Camel, Somerset - have not been seen since it departed.
Coast guards called off the search for the missing sailors on Sunday but kept up the search on Tuesday after celebs, politicians and the public signed a 200,000 strong petition.

“I have reported to the US Coast Guard with the times and positions, so there is a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel.”

Capt. Michel told the BBC: "We are currently just in the north part of the search area, our third night out here, and we did see during this night a few little [pieces of] debris which I have reported to the US Coast Guard with the times and positions, so there is a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel."
The search party have so far covered around 9,000 square miles close to Cape Cod, where it is thought the yacht would have been.
Relatives of the missing crew are set to speak to press ahead of their meeting with the Foreign office later today.
