Now One Direction faces race storm: Fans' anger after shocking 'joint' video apparently shows Louis Tomlinson using shortened version of the N-word... but they play on regardless in Sunderland
In MailOnline's exclusive video, Louis Tomlinson (left), 22, can be heard putting on an accent while speaking about doing drugs and stating 'It's green only, Nig,' to bandmate Zayn Malik (right). Fans said today he was using a shortened version of 'N*****' . They said they were repulsed (bottom) at the apparent use of the racist term and demanded apologies from the band. The pop group (centre) was pictured today for the first time since the video emerged, shuffling out of a private jet ahead of playing a 50,000-capacity venue in Sunderland. In the footage, which will horrify the parents of the band's young fans, Louis holds up the cigarette close to the camera. As they approach their destination, Louis pans to a police motorcycle outrider escorting them yards away. He giggles: 'Look at this b***h! He's having a look. He's thinking, "I'm sure I can smell an illegal substance in there." And he's hit the nail on the head.'
