33 year old Lawal Olaniyi Babafemi (pictured above) yesterday Tuesday April 29th pleaded guilty to terror charges in a US court. The Nigerian citizen is accused of providing material support to an al Qaeda affiliate, and participating in its media and recruitment campaigns, Reuters reports. US prosecutors said that, from January 2010 to August 2011, Babafemi left Nigeria to Yemen twice to meet with some leaders of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, known as AQAP.

President Jonathan has directed that today's Federal Executive Meeting be shelved to enable members of the council attend the 3-day prayer for VP Sambo's deceased brother, late pilot Yusuf Sabo Sambo, who died in a fatal  accident on Sunday April 27th along the Bill Clinton Drive, Airport road, Abuja. Sam Nwaobasi, the Special Assistant (Media) to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation announced the suspension of the meeting. 58year old Yusuf Sambo was a private pilot and is survived by a wife and 3 daughters. THIS is the dramatic footage taken on board a plane by a passenger who looked on in terror as the engine burst into flames. British Aerospace flight 146 had to make an emergency landing at Perth Domestic Airport in Australia after the engine caught fire. And passengers on board could sit and hope for the best as they watched the sparks fly from the engine on the left wing. The plane's fire was even visible from people on the ground as onlookers watched the plane circle as it waited to land.

Three suspected kidnappers were beaten up and burnt to death by mobs in separate incidents in Oshogbo, Osun State on Friday. Police Public Relations Officer in the command, Mrs. Folasade Odoro, told a Lagos based newspaper that another suspect was caught and mobbed at Alekuwodo area of the Oshogbo. The Alekuwodo suspect, who was allegedly caught with three children, was rescued by the police before he was set ablaze. “The suspect was rescued and brought to the police but he gave up the ghost when receiving treatment,” the PPRO said. Following the killings, the State Police Command has issued a warning to residents to desist from meting out jungle justice. “The command is warning residents of the state against jungle justice. If anybody is arrested, such should be handed over to the police. Nobody has the right to kill any suspect; it is against the law,” Odoro added. But according to reports, the 234 girls abducted at Government Girls College on April 15th may have been married off for N2,000 each and may also have been removed from the Nigeria to neighbouring countries like Chad and Cameroon. Daily Trust  reports Most of the 234 Borno schoolgirls in Boko Haram captivity have been ferried abroad to Chad and Cameroon after they were married off to sect members on N2,000 bride price each, an elder told Daily Trust yesterday. Dr. Pogu Chibok, who is the leader of the Chibok Elders Forum, told Daily Trust yesterday that latest information available to them indicates that most of the girls have been taken to the neighboring Cameroon and Chad by their captors. He said before they were ferried in canoes across the Lake Chad, a wedding ceremony was conducted at a town on the border with Cameroon where they were married off to Boko Haram militants. According to a report by SR, Ambrose Ezewani, an ex student of the University of Lagos and former President of the National Association of Delta State students, UNILAG chapter, who blew the lid on a systematic student bursary racketing allegedly spearheaded by the Commissioner for Higher Education in Delta state, Mr Hope Eghagha has been handed over to the Delta state Government Sahara Reporters reports.. Police officers in Sabo Station yesterday afternoon handed him over after the Delta State officials visited to ask for his transfer to Asaba, Delta State where he will be most likely tortured and “tried” for revealing the fraud perpetrated by officials of the state. Nollywood star, Ini Edo, was on location in Enugu, when she turned 32 last Wednesday (April 23). A small birthday celebration was held for her on set, but it was almost certain that when she returned to Lagos, there would be a proper birthday celebration. On Sunday, the actress and some of her friends went on a boat cruise, and had a party at a private beach in Lagos.
